WS2012 VDI TIP: How to Change the Title on the RDWeb homepage

As a cloud and datacenter specialist, a VDI tip from me seem a bit unusual, but it’s not difficult to predict that VDI is part of a future that includes DaaS (Desktop-as-a-Service). One question I get about every time I pull up the RDWeb page is:

Can I change the default title on the RDWeb page?

The answer is definitely “yes”. Here is the how-to for the change.

Before: The default title “Work Resources” is shown in the first image below

First import the module RemoteDesktop and then use the following command:

SYNTAX
  Set-RDWorkspace [-Name] <string> [-ConnectionBroker <string>] [<CommonParameters>]

EXAMPLE

set-rdworkspace -Name “Contoso VDI Resources”

After: And here’s the same RDWeb homepage (using the example one-liner above) after a simple refresh (F5), no restarts necessary.
