For all of you who have been looking for virtualization/hyper-v stencil, I've posted a new stencil I made. If you have suggestions for new icons, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

This document contains a conveniently formatted source of command line syntax for Windows Server 2008 Core, and includes both RTM and R2 commands. It started out as a convenient source for my own reference, but after sharing with a few colleagues, they suggested I share.In any event, it makes for a handy offline reference if you've not memorized all the configuration commands for server core.

by Matthijs ten Seldam, VMC to Hyper-V Import Tool, VMC2HV for short, imports the configuration from a Virtual Machine Configuration (VMC) file. Both Virtual PC and Virtual Server use VMC files to store the hardware and other properties of a VM. It reads the VMC file and maps all relevant properties to those for a Hyper-V VM. For those properties that did not exist, it provides additional options.

Maintenance script for guests managed by SCVMM 2008

by Taylor Brown, this script retrieves the Msvm_VirtualSystemManagmentService class and the MasterVM’s Msvm_ComputerSystem. It then loops 10 times, first changing the name of the VM and then exporting the VM and finally re-importing the VM. After it completes the 10 interactions it restores the name of original name of the MasterVM.

This reusable Powershell script will create a new virtual machine from an existing VM template in any SCVMM library. Requires SCVMM 2008 Powershell extensions. Script has 3 required parameters. Run with no parameters and syntax will be echoed to the screen. Be sure to add a license key and administrator password to your template first! Save with a .ps1 extension when you download.
