Logical disk free space live "report"

Hi Guys,

I'm rather new to SCOM and have been tasked to create a sort of Live "Report" of servers with low free disk space but to be honest I have no idea where to even begin. What management wants is a sort of Dashboard view that displays all (and only) the server names with low disk space; the view needs to be live because I presume it will be displayed somewhere in the service desk for them to action (simply sending alerts wont work in this situation).

If someone can point me in some sort of direction I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

RV

Hi RV

See my post in the following article.

You can play with the CASE statement to change the thresholds to what you need.

Hope it helps.

PS - You can either run the query against the DW directly via a SQL Console, or create a custom Reporting Services Report that the helpdesk and guys can run, either directly, or via the SCOM console.

Cheers!

Jamie

Using SQL SVR Reporting Services is the best way to do this. It will generate a new report each time.

You use SQL Server Business intellegence Development Studio (like visual Studio) and build a query against your OperationsManagerDW database.

Then when you get the report, you can post it to your report server. I place the link on a SharePoint Server.

When someone clicks the link, they get updated information for % Space Free for C: D: E: for each server.
