QuickTricks: Integrating SharePoint as your process and standards repository for OpsMgr (#SCOM, #SYSCTR, #SharePoint)

One of the additional ways that SharePoint can be used within Operations Manager is to provide a quick access to any standards and processes which are defined for the organization. By creating a web page view which points to your SharePoint document library or folder for standards you can quickly integrate documentation for processes and standards into Operations Manager.

To do this,  create a web page view which points to the document library or folder within your document library that contains your process and standards documentation. To do this, browse to the URL of the folder or document library and copy the URL to add to the web page view.

Note: Replace any %20 references with a space (“ “) and replace any %2f references with a slash (“/”) for any of these references before the %folder piece of the URL.

Text example after:

http://cloud-sp01/Operations Manager/Forms/AllItems.aspx?RootFolder=/Operations Manager/Process&FolderCTID=0x012000D566E2EF6A86EE41A2615290A9517102&View={3FFAD36D-585A-4A01-90F6-CDA83A41E05B}&InitialTabId=Ribbon%2ERead&VisibilityContext=WSSTabPersistence

Finally remove any text beyond the location of the folder as shown below:

http://cloud-sp01/Operations Manager/Forms/AllItems.aspx?RootFolder=/Operations Manager/Process

This provides a quick way to access all processes and standards stored in the document library or in a folder within a document library as shown below where “process” is a folder within the Operations Manager document library.
