New and fresh dashboards straight out of the oven by Daniel Orneling
Dashboards by Savision is a free HTML5 dashboarding tool that complements SCOM in a really nice way when creating custom views/dashboards. In the new version of Dashboards by Savision, the “Computer Health & Dashboards” has been incorporated again.
When I was first introduced to Dashboards a couple of months back, I immediately thought, “I like this.” I believed it was something that would complement SCOM in a really nice way when creating custom views/dashboards. One of the dashboards I liked the most during the beta was the one called “Computer Health & Dashboards,” which is displayed below. This view was missing in the final release of Dashboards and apparently I’m not the only one that’s been missing the dashboard. In the version I´m using below, it’ll be back with its full force.
The dashboard provides an excellent overview of the servers, showing things like disk space, CPU, event log etc. to make sure you don´t miss out on any outages. As you can see below, the server name, pane to the left, matches the state of the unit monitor, such as the disk space monitor for CM01 in this example. If you don’t want to see all your servers’ state, then you can always scope the view to a certain group of servers, such as servers running Windows Server 2012 R2.
When looking at the custom dashboards, there are a couple of updates, but also a completely new widget – which you will see further below in the post. If you’ve been following this blog or if you’ve tried Dashboards before, you might guess which one is new? If you can’t, keep reading to find out.
