Pete Zerger replied to the topic SCOM 2012 – Script for FOLDER Deletion in the forum Operations Manager 1 day, 4 hours ago

Definitely seems like a job for object-level auditing in Windows with event rules in OpsMgr to pick up the events

Pete Zerger replied to the topic Why do Opsmgr 2012 subscriptions have associated channels?? in the forum Operations Manager 1 day, 7 hours ago

Pete Zerger replied to the topic Why do Opsmgr 2012 subscriptions have associated channels?? in the forum Operations Manager 1 day, 8 hours ago

The Channel defines method of delivery (SMTP, SMS, etc) and message format. If you have teams that have different format preferences, providing them their own channel and customizing the message format will meet the need.

This would best be accomplished with object-level auditing and picking up the resulting events with OpsMgr rules (or monitors if the missing folder actually affects application health). I would enable object-level […]

Pete Zerger commented on the post, OpsMgr 2012: Group Maintenance Mode via PowerShell (the way it should be) 2 days, 9 hours ago

Due to that fact and reduced complexity overall is why I opted for Start-SCOMMaintenanceMode and ad-hoc, Windows Task Scheduler and Orchestrator-driven maintenance mode.

Pete Zerger replied to the topic how to automate closing old incidents on a schedule? in the forum Service Manager 3 days, 20 hours ago

Nothing at all wrong with using SMLets in runbooks. I use them in a variety of situations with success.

Pete Zerger commented on the post, OpsMgr 2012: Group Maintenance Mode via PowerShell (the way it should be) 1 week ago

Its all about context. This is intended for use as a scheduled task or as the back end of a SCSM Self-Service Portal or SCOrch runbook. If you’re already scheduling through another script or method, you don’t want […]

Pete Zerger replied to the topic Exchange counter monitors for Storage groups – supress duplicates in the forum Operations Manager 1 week, 1 day ago

Have you looked into ‘recurring threshold’ unit monitors? With a unit monitor, you’ll only get one alert when a threshold is breached, and recurring threshold will further reduce the likelihood of false alarms.

Pete Zerger replied to the topic Do SCCM 2012 SP1 activities work on Linux agents? in the forum Orchestrator 1 week, 1 day ago

If you are using Orchestrator to initiate server-side actions related to collections and software deployment, then yes. However, the Perform Client Action activity, which connects to the client directly, will not work.
