I got the management pack working and I’m getting a whole bunch of emails, which is good, but I’m not sure how to tune this subscription?
I want to send a subscription only when I see “MyCert.AU.MyDomain.COM” in the alert.

Thanks John, I’ve checked my DCs and the “System Center Management” agent is running as the Local System account.

I’ve noticed that SCOM will only show performance data relating to the SCOM client, but nothing for the OS, AD DS, disks, etc. I thus assume that the SCOM agent does not have enough security to report on DCs, but I don’t want to elevate the SCOM agent to a domain admin so what’s the next step?
We had an issue recently where a number of our Windows 2003 VMware guest servers had their CPUs go 99% and we found that it was due to a bad Microsoft security patch released on March 12th, but we were able to identify and monitor the situation using the VMware console, which gives us performance stats on all the servers via a GUI.
My problem is…[Read more]
One of my users received an email which was not meant for him so either that server is in the wrong SCOM group or the subscriber’s email address should not be in that subscription. My question is, how do I find the subscription which generated a particular email alert?
Sorry for this, but I was looking at the wrong server. I eventually found the correct server and I searched the Subscriptions table and did not find the username of the guy who left.
I’m still having the same issue.
Vanessa, the Subscriptions table on the report server, which is also the Ops DB, is blank.
I created a new report and it sends out OK so my issue is now, how do I modify the existing reports, where they number around 80?
It seems that whomever creates the reports and schedules them, has their ID logged against the scheduler for that report and…[Read more]
I tried re-activating the guys account but the scheduled reports are still not sending.
Bjorn, I was not too sure about the link you sent me and how that ties into the SCOM report server?
I think this may be a scheduler security issue. Where do I find the Reports scheduler?
One of my guys was setting up reports and scheduling them but he’s left the company now. Since we deprovisioned his account, the scheduled reports have stopped going out by email. When we check in Reporting | Scheduled Reports, the scheduled reports are listed, and next to each one, the Status is:
Failure sending mail. The permissions granted to…[Read more]
I have a WAAM to monitor an internal site:
It’s a Windows 2008 R2 RDS portal logon page. I have setup 2x monitoring agents for this portal and both return the following error:

I’ve setup a Web Application Availability monitor to monitor various internal portals. I’ve set the it to test every 10 minutes and alert after 3 consecutive failures. I thus assume it will alert me after 30 minutes if the portal goes down.
So, when the portal comes back online, do I assume that the recovery or [Close] alert will take 30 minutes as well?

The actual command should be:
Adding the colon to the end changes the “R” option to a restore option where it requires a file to restore from.
BTW, I can confirm that this article is 100% correct when it says after every failed installation, you have to remove the “HealthService” registry key, no matter what the error!

Thanks Tommy. The subscription is based on:
* Created By specific rules or monitors
* An SQL job failed to complete successfully, Class: Rule, Target Type: SQL Server 2005 Agent, Management Pack: SQL Server 2005 monitoring.
This is an example of just one of the rules which have populated the subscription.
So, in this example, there are no…[Read more]

This is more a question of which method is better than “how do you do it?”. I have around 60 SQL servers and about 20 are dev SQL servers which are maintained by our DBAs. There are two which contain BizTalk databases and the BizTalk team would like to take over so I need to remove these two SQL servers from the SQL notification subscription so…[Read more]
I’m not sure what version of SCOM 2012 I have here, but it would be SCOM 2012 vanilla and I would like to upgrade it to SP1.
I’ve tried to find the SP1 download and cannot find it. I’m confused. Where do I get it from?
Can someone point me to a tutorial on what steps are required to install SCOM 2012 SP1? I’ve been looking at…[Read more]

Should I just remove the SCOM 2012 agent from these computers then re-apply them? Based on the fact that I have created overrides for the discovery processes associated with AX 2012, this should work?
Julian Milano (JDMils) started the topic SCOM 2012: Error trying to exclude computers from the AX2012 MP in the forum Operations Manager 5 years, 1 month ago
Once installed, the AX2012 management pack seeks out all AX2012 servers and adds them to the monitor process.
I have a request from the AX team to exclude all DEV/TEST servers from monitoring so I opened the AX MP and created an override for a group I created for the AX2012 DEV/TEST servers but got this error:
