    Hi,

I had built SCOM up and deployed all the agents to your servers. I have now noticed that I am not getting any data in the Data Warehouse database apart from the SCOM server itself.

There are no obvious errors in the event log and my DW account permissions have all been setup. How can I get my SCOM storing performance and event data.

Are you sure you aren’t retaining any data at all in your data warehouse? Go to Kevin Holman’s blog. He has a whole bunch of SQL queries that you can run against the data warehouse:

I have checked against those queries and the only data that is in there are just events and performance data from the SCOM server. There are 100 other servers that are being monitored by SCOM

That sounds very odd. Unless you have something funky going on like an ACL or firewall rule blocking traffic from those agents I can’t imagine why the data wouldn’t be getting to the DW. Is this a new SCOM environment you just built or has this just started happening? Do your agent-managed systems show any errors in the SCOM agent event log? Any errors in your SQL logs?

You might want to try blowing away your DW and reinstalling it to ensure that it is properly registered against your SCOM environment.

No errors on agents or SQL logs

Does blowing it away mean blowing away the whole SCOM infrastructure. Or can I uninstall DW and reinstall that only?

No, you don’t have to blow away your entire SCOM environment. SCOM can actually work without a data warehouse. You simply wouldn’t get any historical data over 7 days old once it was groomed out of the operational database.

Just re-run the SCOM setup wizard again and remove your DW components and then re-run the installer to create a new DW that is properly registered against your SCOM management group.

Since your current DW is not saving data anyways I am assuming there would be no concerns with blowing it away.
