GREEN HOUSE DATA
Kinda on the “fresh” side in regards to SCCM and need some advice.
Whats involved, or maybe I should ask, is it possible to, rename the windows host name the SCCM Primary Site server is sitting on?
ie SCCMSRV01 to be renamed to CCS-AUSCCM without killing SCCM.
Company wants to standardise the host naming convention and our SCCM Primary server is the last to be done. All secondary servers have been built new.
Can this be done?
ONly option for standardization is restoring the sccm server.Take SCCM backup and restore it on diferent server.

As long as you have backup and saved the default sccm server, you can always restore and revert it, there is no limitation in changing the name.
