    Hey @all,

my SCOM Management Server announces me the following error:

    Description:
Error during the the save-process into the Data Warehouse. Exception ‘SqlException’: Sql execution failed. Error 777971002, Level 16, State 1, Procedure StandardDatasetAggregate, Line 424, Message: Sql execution failed. Error 777971002, Level 16, State 1, Procedure StateAggregate, Line 341, Message: Sql execution failed. Error 242, Level 16, State 3, Procedure -, Line 1, Message:
The conversion of a char-data typ into a datetime-data typ fails, because the datetime-value is out of the regular definition.

    (it is my translation)

I found no solution with the help of google. Does anyone here have an idea to solve this problem?
    I didn´t change anything…suddenly this error occurs.

Any help will be much appreciated!!

Hi Ingode, has this error only occurred once? or is it ongoing?

Have you had any operatonal changes made or maintenance done that could have affected the DB server where the DW is stored?

If you are using scom 2007 R2, I would stop start services on the RMS in this order:

    STOP:

    System Center Management

    System Center Management Configuration

    System Center Data Access

    START:

    System Center Data Access

    System Center Management Configuration

    System Center Management

If issue persists, you may need to restart the SQL Server instance that hosts the DW and/or DB

    Hope this helps

    Hey,

    thanks for reply!

It is an ongoing error which comes every hour… I made no changes.

I restarted the rms and the dw server. I think a restart has the same effects as to start and stop the services, but i will try it!

    Hey,
last week i imported my last MP, but the problem is for two days.
The article is about the problem that the rms and dw has connection problems, but I think that is not the problem in my case.

Is there a possibility to look which char-value is responsible for the error? The DW is a MSSQL 2005 server.

Standard Dataset Maintenance troubleshooter from the SCOM Support Team blog has some more useful info on this.

    To start fixing this error

go to Administration> Run As Configuration > Accounts

In the Accounts pane there are 2 accounts you need to reset the username and password for Data Warehouse SQL Server Authentication Account and Reporting SDK SQL Server Authentication Account.By default these accounts are set to nothing but a single space. reset both accounts using the same account and password

Apply the changes and checked the OpsMgr eventlog. Even though the EventID’s 31552 will still appearing the frequency will be far less.

Even though the OpsMgr databases are maintained automatically, it doesn’t hurt to run every now an then a Stored Procedure to update the statistics: sp_updatestats. Run it against the Data Warehouse database (OperationsManagerDW) and the output showed that many tables were updated.
