I talked to Cameron once around 2 years ago about the future of APM with WAP. I will say that he was correct in assuming there wouldn’t be much further development on that piece of SCOM. So, the question here is… Is there anything out there that can do code analysis ala APM, Dynatrace, Bluestripe (obviously acquired) in WAP websites cloud?
I do see New Relic as part of azure public but am having a hard time getting a definitive answer as to whether the same can be achieved in the private cloud.

I think you sort of answered your own question. Bluestripe was acquired by Microsoft and is in the process of being integrated into SCOM and OMS. That places it in the System Center toolstack. Bluestripe is as close as it gets to a true APM solution by Microsoft.

Also, I wouldn’t put Bluestripe in the same class of APM as New Relic or AppDynamics. Those tools are designed to allow you to trace a problem down to the code level. Bluestripe does allow you to trace SQL transactions across tiers but it’s not as deep a tool as those others are.
