Casper,

re-writing the MP for SP1 is not really an option since the procedures used are specific for R2 like multiple SNMP get retrieval. (as I remember correctly).

You might be able to get something similar but this would require using WMI and SNMP. Which is a total different approach.

Based on this I have no intention to release or re-write a free SP1 version... Sorry.

If you want the functionality of this free mp you need R2.

If you are intrested in a commercial one I am able to give you the information for a NetApp Management Pack for SP1 but this version is not free for usage. If you are intrested please send me a PM.

regards,

Oskar Landman

Hi Hans,

to be honest I can't tell for both but, the management pack I designed uses SNMP so it can be....

It really depends on the device if it can be defined by the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.789 it will probably work. But if it uses an IBM OID it will not be discovered so no harm done....you can test if it works or not.

Otherwise you will need the MIB file for your device and change the MP...

Maybe NetApp's MP works for you but can't be sure it depends on the software running on your SAN.

Unfortunately I can't give you a clear awnser, you need to ask NetApp if they support your device.......

regards,

Oskar

Hi, we recently are the owner of a new IBM NetApp Filer N6040 and also SCOM2007 R2, after installing the MP now 48 ours later, I see some info coming into SCOM like Filer and Aggregates. The ones who did not show up are Volumes and LUN's. In the above articel you mentioned some feedback about volume discovery so i was wondering if there's an update about discovering Volumes and LUNS.
