Agent Installation Issue

I have two similar servers - Windows 2003 R2 with no application installed.
I installed an agent from the console to both these servers, one after the other.
For 123 server it installed fine and is green. But for xyz server it keeps on displaying the eventid 21023 - OpsMgr has no configuration for management group XXXXX and is requesting new configuration from the Configuration Service.
Its gets no other information and every 5 mins displas the same event.

I tried to repair - didn't work
Tried unistall  and then reinstall - didn't work
Tried to uninstall, run momclean.exe and then reinstall - didn't work.
Uninstalled, and reinstalled using different management server - didn't work
Unistalled, cleaned, ran a manual install from the local server and approved - didn't work.

I am not sure what I am missing, but this one server is too stubborn and would only display as "Not Monitored".  Not sure how I can get the server to be green.

There are no issues with the OS or anyother thing, as both the servers are identical hardware and OS. So 123 is fine and xyz is stuck.

Any other ideas?

Thanks Pete for the email.

JB /gobigblue - I would definitely try the steps which I took in the first post on the top. If no results, then you can try this.

go to the opsmgr database, and open the table MT_UserActionManager . Delete any pending action from that table.

Make sure you take a db backup before performing the above.

Hi Guys,

Bit of help please. Im having the above issue but with my Management Server. All it does is spew out 21023 events. When i check my RMS for any events it shows as blank.

I would also like some clarity on sameers fix for his problem. He says delete Pending Actions from the "MT_UserAvtionManager" Table but which events are in pending. The are Three Pend Id's (3, 0 & 19) which do i delete.

Any help would be great.

Im at my wits end.

Moe

Try to find the basemangaedEntityid for that server in question. See if that server is listed in the table. If it is, then delete that.

BTW did you try stopping the services, renaming the health service folder to OLD, and then starting the service? first try this, and then go with MT_useraction route..

I checked the UserAction Table and i have my server listed as the Management Server a few times but all the BaseEntityID's are different.

Hi,
All I can see in my client is the event 21023, I already try to install-uninstall(waiting 7 days), clear the health state, the ports are open, checking the regedit fo OpsMgr, DB are ok(that I know beacuse a recently added new agents and they are working fine)but the problem still continues.

Regards,

Hello Guys,

I am also facing the same issue.

I have already done all the steps mentioned above.

My servers are in the same segment so there is no firewall between them.

I have also working with microsoft on this one but there is no solution to this problem yet.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Cheers!!
