The Agent status is OK too. The command wuauclt /detectnow dowsn't run I think, Because nothing happens.

Can anybody help, how I troubleshoot?

The updatepath is: https://HOSTNAME.DOMAIN.local:8531

If I connect to the Site via IE, the site could not be displayd. If I use the path without :8531 I get an Access Denied Error Page.

I have SCE 2010 set up to send email alerts for heartbeat failures using the Health Service Heartbeat Failure monitor. I have also set up escalation emails so if a system goes down and stays down for 15 minutes we get an alert sent to our phones as well. This works great, my only problem is I get alerts when the problem is resolved also. This wouldn't be too bad but the escalation occurs for the problem being resolved also. For Example For testing purposes I would unplug the network cable. This generated an email alert. I let it sit for 15 minutes and it sent the escalation alert. I would then plug the network cable back in and it would generate another alert because the situation was fixed (although the message was the exact same). Then after 15 minutes the escalation alert went off again. It seems as though the emails are sent on state changes and the escalation is just if a state change is persistent for 15 minutes. How can I set it to not email me when the problem is resolved?

Mattie, you have a number of options for VMware monitoring, as explained in

VMware VI3 Monitoring Options for Operations Manager 2007

However, I would call Veaam and Quest the most popular options (in no particular order). Quest has the advantage of being free (when you monitor through vCenter), which is really cool for people on a budget. Here are a couple of articles to help you with tuning of both Quest and Veaam. I have used both with success.

Mattie, I can give you quite a lot of details on this scenario, as we performed a proof-of-concept for branch office software deployment with Office 2007 and Essentials 2010 (same will apply to Office 2010). The key to effective branch office software deployment is BranchCache (the distributed mode option on Windows 7 and 2008 R2) or BITS peer caching (Vista and Windows 2008 RTM/SP1). Here is a summary of our findings in testing this scenario (I am not able to share all of the details at this time)...but this will give you the basics of what you need to do.

Test Parameters

Package: Office 2007 Professional: Package Size = 398MB (on disk, compressed in WSUS content directory)

Target Group: 12 servers, all Window 2008 SP1 / R2, all BITS peer caching or BranchCache enabled

Total Potential Data Transfer: Without BranchCache / BITs peer caching, total data transfer would be 398MB x 12 servers = 4.664 GB

Test Results

As mentioned, without caching data transfer would be 4.664GB. And in fact it was when we tested without BranchCache and BITS peer caching.

Actual data transfer was 2.58GB a savings of more than 2GB or 40%+.

Measuring Data Transfer / Bandwidth Savings

We validated our savings by actually watching data transfer on the line during the test period. Since we tested on a mostly empty link and used the wuauclt /detectnow command to force all systems to detect the package pretty quickly, deployment was less than 3 hours for all systems. Our WAN link reporting tool is very good, so we could see bandwidth savings very clearly.
You can also watch the the BranchCache performance counters on Windows 7 and 2008 R2 to see that data is in fact being pulled from a peer and not from the SCE 2010 Server. On Vista and WIndows 2008 RTM/SP1 systems using BITS Peer Caching, you have to use the bitsadmin command line tool to see jobs in progress and to verify data being pulled from peer.

One last tip for you. We found that using wuauclt /detect on a single client or server first to get the Office 2007 bits across the WAN before the other agents began requesting software seemed to increase the amount of data pulled from BITS peers instead of the SCE server.
Good luck. Let me know if any questions.

Yes, we reported this bug. What this means is that you have designated a Hyper-V host in SCE 2010, but did not specify a network location. What happens in this case is Essentials will not change the networking, which allows existing Hyper-V guests to continue functioning. However, all attempts to perform V2V conversion of VMware guests will fail until you right click Hyper-V host in the Essentials console and enter a description in network location.
