You dont want to use the old one, use the new one.. I have put it here for the moment: http://www.wallis2000.co.uk/release.rar
hopefully Pete should be along with a new link shortly.
At the moment, this version only supports exchange 2007, I can possibly support other platforms but this takes time, I did investigate doing it via IMAP but didnt get too far with that!
The account that you run the service as will need to be able to resolve alerts within operations manager and it will also need its own mailbox configuring.
Any problems and Ill try and help :)
David

Also there are a couple of values that can be configured in the .config file that arent done via the setup program such as impersonation.

Just to bring this back up to the top, since I have upgraded to R2 I can confirm that this version also works with R2.

Nothing at all in my environment, I left my service installed and running.. upgraded the server to R2 and it all worked fine after, I was quite suprised, I thought I may had to do a recompile to fix some bugs.. but so far so good.

David,
Can you check your download link for this. It appears your site as well as this site has a package for an Infra Connector rather than the Email service.

If someone could please post a link to a working version of David Wallis' file, it would be greatly appreciated! Looking for his SCOM Email Service installer (the links on this site and his website are the wrong files). Thank you!

I think the release.rar is the correct file, but I have e-mailed David and asked him to confirm. Will let you know what we hear, or perhaps David will update us on this thread.

Pete,
FYI I re-downloaded the file (saves as release.rar). Upon attempting to install, it says that it is the Operations Manager Infra Connector. Attempted to install anyway, but it asks for Infra server information (which I believe is EMC Infra, and that connector is another service that David wrote at some point). My guess is the most recent time he uploaded the file, the wrong one was placed on this site. Also attempted downloading directly from his site, and same thing.

Hi David,
Thanks so much! Got the file and it appears to be working somewhat. Have it checking the mailbox... Is there any documentation, or can you tell me what the service is looking for in the email body? Right now it is saying "GUID Not Found NoMatch=True" in the event logs. Ideally we would like to be able to respond with either "close" or "ack" in an email to have it change the status of the alert. It's definitely seeing the emails in the mailbox, so that's a good step!
Thanks in advance for your help!
