Ever wished management pack creation could be explained in plain English? This 6 part article series attempts to present basic to advanced management pack design and implementation in a way that is easy to understand...even if you are not a application developer.

Concepts are presented with hands-on exercises walk the user through the both the planning and implmentation processes in the creation of the PKI Certificate Validation MP.

SCC contributors Pete Zerger, Raphael Burri and Jaime Correia take you through the process end-to-end using the much-improved R2 Authoring Console.

on 10/27/2009 9:54:02 AM An excellent read - I look forward to the rest in the series. A guide written for the non-developers out there is greatly needed. I've managed a dozen or so SCOM implementations in the last year and a half for various clients, and in nearly all of those the people that manage the app after we put it in place are not developers and have no desire to be. I will be sending each of them a link to this guide. Keep up the good work, I'll be watching for the rest in the series.

on 12/17/2009 3:25:38 PM Hmm, I have registered for the site and logged in, and I see the download link for other information, but I do not see a download link for this page. Can someone help me?

on 12/18/2009 2:59:29 AM Mikester You should see a (rather tiny) download link at the end of the post. Look between 'Categories' and 'Bookmark this post'. Let us know if you still can not download the document.
