No, I don't have any experience with SQL log shipping, but in theory it should work. Have you looked at the SCOM design guide to see what it says about log shipping? And now that SCOM agents report to a management server pool, having the agents fail over...

I have a request to modify a performance report to only report on objects (Logical Disk) that are NOT healthy. I thought using a group would be the best way to do this, but I cannot figure out how to create a dynamic group using the health state as part o...

Now that System Center 2012 is one “product” we’re seeing a heavier focus towards using a common back-end for the products. Microsoft has done a good (not great) job on providing a consistent set of back-end database requirements so that a single version...

FYI - I am the author and product owner of the Veeam MP, and I'm not here to plug it (I think it sells itself quite well ), and for pricing details I'd recommend contacting your local Veeam sales team. But if you're talking System Center 2012 - then don'...

Then you need to create "overrides" for the spesific rules/monitors. There is a lot of information out there regarding "best practices" for creating overrides, both in the official MS doc and in various blogs.

Hi Wilson, Thank you for replying. Do you have any experience in SQL log shipping with SCOM? As I write in the original post I don't think it sounds like an optimal solution, but it might be easier to handle then I think off course.

I'm not a big fan of multi-homing agents. It sounds great in theory, but I've seen some weird things happen on agents that are multi-homed....I noticed that in my environment, the agents that were multi-homed seemed to go into a grayed-out state much more...

Wow ya that pretty much did it. Now for the 2nd part, how do I go about changing the default threshold values for alerts? Because right now their are at 5% critical and 10% warning by default and that is a little low to me.
