SCOM 2007 R2 agent on 2003 and DW20.exe
Hi strange one we have installed scom 2007 R2 agents and CU5 via sccm task sequence to some 2003 servers successfully , however on some the base agent is asking for a reboot ( no agent present before ) which is very unusual. CU5 then cannot install as it is 3010 return code and server NOT allowed to reboot the scom agent install process seems to create a hidden c:\config.msi and an .RBF file in pendingfilerename key and in the event log SCOM is trying to access DW20.exe which is locked ....is this then the file rename ? why is the scom agent accessing DW20.exe ... the agent looks fine when TS completes so its not a crash ho hum

SCOM 2012 and SQL 2012
researching a SCOM 2012 solution i looked at the SQL2012  always on feature...perfect but no microsft produce software that doesnt support there own products why dont they try to sync their products i imagine it will be 2015 before we can use 2012 ????????? just like SQL mirroring what a joke

tommy thanks yes 2 types of task but there is a firewall inbetween the RMS and a client attached to a GW so why does microsoft use the RMS as the initiator of a ping to a REd zone server surely it should know that this clients PMS is a gateway and then run a remote agent task to ping from the GW to the DMZ client hope thats clear
