Trondhindenes RE: Re: How to override a logical disk monitor for a group of computers?
Thanks guys, Ryan, your example constructs groups og logical disks, which is the same class I want to create the override for. My challenge is to override on a group of a different class (Windows Computer). I'll do some labing on this one. Thanks!

How to override a logical disk monitor for a group of computers?
Hi, This question came from a client the other day, and I wasn't able to answer him straight away. We were talking about the defragmentation monitor on the logical disk class, and back and forth about disabling it or not. Customer:"Well, we already know which Windows servers are virtual since this is picked up by SCOM and marked when you view the windows computer details, so can't we just at least disable the defrag check for virtual servers while we figure out what to do?" Me: "Hm. Good idea. Let me look into it" Although this question was tied to the infamous defrag check, it's valid for other scenarios as well. So, my question is: How can I (easiest way possible) disable a rule/monitor on a class (for example Logical Disk) for a group of Windows Computers? Any pointers appreciated! best regards, Trond

I have found the FREE OpsLogix Ping MP to be very good, it is my MP of choice when customers need simply ping functionality. It even includes reporting and ping response thresholds, all in all a very nice package for zip dollars. http://www.opslogix.com/
