Monitor for existence of any file in a given directory
Is there a way to monitor for the existence of any file in a given directory on Windows server?  Alert if any file found between certain time frame. Reason- Our user has an application that processes files in a directory and then deletes it.  If any files remain, then user must be notified for incomplete processing.

Effects of increasing Performance Data retention
Our management is pushing to increase the retention of detailed Performance Data from 7 days to 30 days, so our SCOM users have to ability to see detailed performance history for up to 30 days easily.  What impact does this have on SCOM performance, OM database, etc?  Is there a generic formula on how much the OM database would increase in size?  What is the maximum practical days the retention of Performance data can be increased?  Alternatively, is there a way to increase the retention for certain servers only?  Thank you.

Unable to view a .XPS file in a Web Page View in the Ops Console
I uploaded a Visio diagram after saving it as .xps to our SharePoint site.  On our SharePoint site I can open the .xps diagram in IE just fine.  When I copied the file path to my SCOM console Web Page View- Target website, it shows The webpage annot be found.  The path is something like this:  http://shareptserver/Tech/docs/Network%20Diagrams/testvisio.xps When I copy this url to IE browser it too opens fine.  What did I forget to do?  Thanks.
Pua RE: SCOM2012 and Sharepoint integration. -what are the possibilities?
If you are using Solarwinds Orion for network monitoring, they do have a Connector that feeds data to SCOM.  Although I have this configured with SCOM 2007, I don't know the success on SCOM 2012.  The result is I can integrate SCOM and Orion data into SCOM views.

We NEVER want to see CLOSED alerts on RULES
We create Alert Generating Rules to inform our users of certain events. I can't just modify the subscription to notify on NEW only because that impacts MONITORS, which we need to be notified on CLOSED alerts. I can't create separate subscriptions for MONITORS & RULES as there is no feasible way. Our users are waken up at about 4 AM when these RULE alerts are auto-resolved a few weeks later, and they hate us (and SCOM). What is the work-around?  Is there a powershell script I can use to manually close rule alerts during the day when I have the subscription disabled?

ok, it didn't like the 'Network Diagrams' folder with the space. I created another folder in sharepoint without a space and this worked. should have tried this first before I posted this question.
