Michiel Wouters RE: Re: How to create SCOM group for specific SQL servers
Jeff, You can add DB Engines from servers with a specific name or whatever property you want to use. From the Group Wizard, add the DB Engine class to the dynamic member rules and than select the hosting class for DB Engine. I don't have a console in front of me, but the hosting class is probably Windows Server. Select the name property and the right operator (equal, like, is not). Maybe a blog post of mine can help you out. It's about group depth, but it contains screenshots of the group wizard and a example of hosted classes, like IIS or SQL DB Engine. http://michielw.blogspot.com/2011/06/scom-dynamic-group-maxdepth.html Best regards, Michiel

First check the interval of the Group Populator as Andreas suggests. In the past i wrote a script to check for groups which could require a lot of IO by using and/or structures. Perhaps you can use that. http://michielw.blogspot.com/2010/07/scom-find-thos...
