I know this post is old, but I have a question relevant to this funtionality and type of solution. Figured I may as well just post it on this thread :)

I have a Powershell script that Resets IIS. I want it to be a task in SCOM (Just like this one in this example). I also want it to be able to be used as a recovery task in a monitor. The problem is that It really does not have nor need any (Name/Value) params so therefor I cant use "Microsoft.Windows.PowerShellProbe". What is the best was to do this? shuld I use "Microsoft.Windows.PowerShellTriggerOnlyProbe" instead?? Can you give an example of using TriggerOnly to have a task icon show up in the SCOM console? Thanks!

It must have something to do with the Event Log format, which then feeds into the Ops DB. Seems like the experts there would be a totally different product team. I notice that the OperationsManager DB only supports up to 10 parameters, although I suppose that is enough.

Thanks Pete! Did you see the new LogSmith Release? Event Parameters are working. I would be interested what algorithm is behind those parameters. Do you know how these parameters are populated?
