In this final instalment we will look at Subscriptions from the Monitoring Pane. The fundamental and key difference here is that the Subscription Criteria is already selected for you, although you can change this the idea is that if you get an alert that may show it’s self again then you can advise the correct team of that recurrence via an a alert.

So in the alerts section of the Monitoring Pane against an alert ( there has to be an alert) you will see in the Tasks section ‘Subscription’

There are two options ‘Create’ and ‘Modify’. I guess by the titles what the difference is fairly clear. Let concentrate on the create subscription for now.

Select an alert then click on ‘Create’ in Subscription in the task section.

As you can see this opens up the ‘Notification Subscription Wizard’ we have been here before in Part Two, hey hang on the Description section is filled out already. That is because we already selected from an existing alert so we have already got some of the information needed.

Click on Next,

At lot of this likes familiar but the difference so far is that the information has already been completed for you. We could at this point change or modify the subscription if needed but think if you want to that then create a custom alert from scratch.

We have already covered this in part two but we could choose ‘New’ or ‘Add’ then click finish to complete the Wizard. If we choose ‘Modify’ then we could modify an existing Notification alert

In this final section most of the criteria has been done for us, really we only need choose the Subscribers.

This really concludes the 3rd part series for Notifications. I will add a Q&A on Notifications to the forum soon but if you need any further help then add a post to the forum.

Many thanks and hope this series helps you.
