Pete Zerger introduced me to BlogMailr today. I noticed that it supported the MetaWeblog API for Live Spaces, which is what we used for the Windows LiveWriter integration .  So, I had to give it a try to see if it works.

This post is my test ;-)

Here is what I have done thus far:

1.       Registered for an account on BlogMailr

2.       For blog address I used http://www.systemcentercentral.com/blog/xfernal

3.       After putting in my username and password and submitting, I get the following message:

Oops! We can’t seem to talk to your blog. Are you sure the URL is correct? Below is some additional information that will help us, but if you don’t know what this is just ask us.”

4.       It then provides a dropdown with “Custom” selected for Blogging Service, and a textbox to add the “Web Service Endpoint”. This is the address to use for System Center Central:

http://www.systemcentercentral.com/DesktopModules/VivoIndexItem/MetaWeblogHandler.ashx?tabid=143&ModuleId=498

5.       I then click “Find My Blog”.

6.       I am then directed to a page with my new @blogmailr.com email account.

7.       I then created this email, with the “To:” field in the email going to my new @blogmailr.com email address.

8.       The subject and content of this email will hopefully post to System Center Central when I hit the send button.

Let’s see what happen!

Looks like it works! It did take about 15 - 20 minutes from the time that I sent the email till it was posted. You get an email confirmation that the message has been posted with a link directly to the message. Maybe their scheduled task runs every 15 minutes or so? Anyway, it works. Happy Blogging!
